Picture Book Promos

Mirror Mirror by Marilyn Singer

There are at least two sides to every story – even fairy tales. In this innovated poetry book, Singer tells both sides using the same words for each. Reading the poem top down is one side; reading the poem bottom up is another. Illustrations by Josée Masse also perfectly depict the poems reversed nature. This is a delightful book for both fairy tale enthusiasts and poetry lovers.

Stuck in the Mud by Jane Clarke; Illustrations by Garry Parsons

It is morning and Hen is counting her chickens when she realizes one is missing! She calls for help, because her little chick is stuck in a patch of mucky yucky mud. Each animal who aids Hen becomes stuck as well. The end will delight the reader as little Chick thanks everyone for playing with him. Parsons’ illustrations are delightful, bringing the tale even more to life.

I recently used this story for our Mudluscious themed storytime.
