The Music Box

The Music Box by Andrea Kane

The Music BoxThis book takes in an unorthodox household where all the staff has different physical or mental issues, but as a group they are a loving family who help each other out as needed. The head of the family, Lady Nevon, calls her nephew home when the father who never recognized him dies. He has never met the strange family and they do not know his background but this quickly changes when Lady Nevon appoints him the guardian in case something happens to her. He is quickly embraced by the family, but especially by Lady Nevon’s adopted niece.

Likes:
I liked the fact that even though the people at Lady Nevon’s are technically her servants they are more like a family than a paid staff. Everyone is involved in everyone else’s life right down to eavesdropping to find out what is going on (but only in regards to good things)

Dislikes:
I thought some of the events happened much too fast to be realistic based on the characters backgrounds.
