Art for Baby
In the tradition of Tana Hoban’s classic, Black and White, this oversize boardbook contains high contrast images, also in black and white, to capture the attention of infants. Each page lists the image’s artist and title.
A coworker took this book home for her grandson, who is around four months old. He loved it.
Seven Hungry Babies by Candace Fleming; illustrated by Eugene Yelchin
Seven hungry baby birds hatch and call to their mama, demanding food. One by one their mama finds something for them to eat and each falls asleep. As she searches for food, she becomes more and more exhausted. When they all wake up and cry for food again, she declares she’s not going to do it this time…it’s daddy’s turn!
This adorable backwards counting story will have parents chuckling over the mama’s increasing exhaustion and cooing over the adorable illustrations. Children are sure to enjoy seeing each baby bird being fed and falling asleep. This is an overall adorable book.
