Return of the dead...

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dawn of the Dreadfuls by Steve Hockensmith

This prequel is set a few years before the events described in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. The Bennet sisters are genteel English ladies. The oldest, Jane, has already come out in society, and next in line Elizabeth is about to do the same. Plans drastically change, however, when the recently deceased Mr. Ford begins to move in his coffin. Unfortunately, the curse of the Dreadfuls has returned to England.

Mr. Bennet wastes no time in educating his five daughters in the Deadly Arts. Can the Bennet sisters maintain their place in society while slaying Unmentionables?

I do believe that this book is even better than the first! There were many times that I laughed quietly to myself as I read about Mrs. Bennet’s schemes to find suitable (in her opinion) mates for her daughters – or to obtain a son from her husband. This is simply a delightful, yet gory, tale of romance, loss of innocence and, most importantly, zombies.
