An Unwilling Bride – Jo Beverley

An Unwilling Bride – Jo Beverley

The book takes place back in the days of the aristocracy in London. It is the story of a son not borne to a Duke but to his wife and a biological daughter to the duke but not to his wife. As a result, the Duke decides that these two must marry in order to continue the bloodline.

The story starts out with the Duke approaching both parties and telling them that they will be getting married no matter what. She has been living simply as a school teacher and he has been living the typical heir role of rogue. Neither of them is happy about this union but are not able to prevent it.

As you read the book, there are many different elements to the relationship from the time they meet to the time they get married and beyond. Their relationship also has an impact on the Duke and his wife's relationship.

My opinion on this book:

It was too long in my opinion. It seemed that things were resolved but then they had to bring in another challenge which took up another 40 pages that really not needed. The point of these pages could have easily been handled in a much shorter method.
