Fast forward to the next day at work, before I even had a ch
ance to bring it up with my supervisor, a parent came in looking for some books that her daughter could enjoy, who is also an advanced reader. My coworkers and I later discussed several books to suggest to other advanced young readers.
After polling several people (in person and via email, twitter and facebook), and checking various resources, here is a list of recommended reads for advanced readers.
Note – I have not read all of these books, but have read many of them. Those I have not read were only put on this list after being recommended by several people. As always, if you are worried about the appropriateness of the book, I recommend reading the book before giving it to your child.
