Single mother Eva is the town’s librarian – and a new vampire. When it is realized that her vamp powers include being able to talk to animals – including animals who were once human – she becomes much desired by all sides of a preternatural fight. Of course, not only is someone trying to kidnap her. She realizes that her feelings for master vampire Lorcan run much deeper than her initial hatred for the guy who killed her.
Some scenes were humorous, making me chuckle.
Dislikes
As a librarian, I have a bit of an issue with the main character being the town’s librarian (and later a teacher). Why? Because she doesn’t have a high school diploma, let alone a college degree.
Total fluff, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing usually, but when combined with the blah writing it is all the worse. I won’t be reading any of the other books in the series. Give me some Molly Harper or Sherrilyn Kenyon supernatural creatures instead.
Other
Part of the Broken Heart, Oklahoma series.
