When the Heart Beckons by Jill Gregory

This review is by guest reviewer/blogger Sharon.

Annabel has always wanted to be a private investigator, but did not know how to approach her boss about a promotion from receptionist.  Her chance came when a childhood friend disappears and his dad hires her company to track him down.  But Annabel underestimates the roughness of the Wild West and quickly learns it is not a place for a woman.  Thankfully, she meets up with Roy Steele, fastest gun in the West, who will not let her travel on her own and saves her life more than once.  But will they end up finding her quarry before others who seek him and find him?  What will happen to Annabel when her quest is over?

A few twists
