Snow themed storytime – books read:
Little Kelly loves to wear her red coat, mitts, boots, barrettes and stockings and to use her red cup and red paint, telling her mother that “Red is best.” This is an adorable story from 1981 that still resonates today.
A snowy story in the style of There Was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Fly. I can never read this without singing most of the tale!
The Caldecott winning classic about little Peter donning his red snowsuit and having adventures in the snow.
In the style of The House that Jack built, this is the story of a little girl and the articles of clothing she wears while playing in the snow. The rebus aspect of the story makes it a perfect one for sharing with a prereader. (I used the big book version for storytime and the kids loved it!)
