A cryptic letter

Another edition of book spine poetry brought to you by Ama Shelving Books!

This time I was shelving Newbery award winners:

Dear Mr. Henshaw,

The Witch of Blackbird Pond
Sarah, Plain and Tall
Walk Two Moons.
Call it Courage.

Up a Road Slowly,
M. C. Higgins, the Great.

One fine day...

As many probably already know, April is National Poetry Month. In honor of this, I share with you my own book spine poetry.

What is book spine poetry? It’s a fun way to write poems. Take books, use the titles listed on the spine as lines of the poem. Stack the books on top of one another so others can read your literary efforts. Voila! You have written a book spine poem!

I was shelving some Caldecott winners when I put together this little poem and snapped a photo:

One Fine Day
Frog Went A-Courtin’
My Friend Rabbit.

The Rooster Crows,
"Once a Mouse…"

Always Room for One More.
